Reconciling Payments to Bank Statements
Once you receive payments you will need to enter them into your accounting system in order to update the relevant debtor records and perform your bank reconciliation. You can do this by manually entering each individual received payment, or, you can upload a file of received payments either manually or electronically.
There will be two ways you can obtain the list of payments received.
Online merchant log in
This facility is similar to an online banking web site, excepting that instead of dealing with just payments made, it deals with both payments received and made. This facility will enable you to obtain a list of the received payments which you can then manually enter into your accounting system.
There are numerous other features of this facility > find out more (then hyperlink to “Online management log on” page)
Daily transaction reporting
An efficient way of entering received payments into your accounting system is by uploading a file containing the individual payment details. We will send you the payment file each day such that it enables you to undertake this file upload process. Depending upon your own preference you can then undertake the file upload either manually or automatically.
The format of the file can be configured to your individual needs and system requirements > find out more (then hyperlink to “Daily transaction reporting”)
Whether you use the Online merchant log in or the Daily transaction reporting, the received payments will reconcile to the actual banking that will show on your bank statement. The different settlement days for each of Visa and MasterCard, Amex, Diners, JCB, Direct Debit, Direct Credit and Direct Debit Rejects will all be taken care of by the SecurePay System.
