The Call Centre Payment Switch (CCPS)
is a product designed for large-scale call centres. It has
its own Server and Client components, as well as its own database.
The CCPS allows an administrator to configure
users with passwords in the database, and define three levels
of access-- an Operator, who may perform payments; a Manager,
who may conduct refunds; and an Administrator, who may change
system settings from the operator console.
The Operator Console is installed on each
operator's PC, where they use their username and password
to log in to the system. The Switch is installed on a central
server machine within your call centre, and handles all requests
from Operator Consoles around the office. When a payment is
made by an operator, the request is sent to the Payment Switch
which transforms the data and passes it across the Internet
to SecurePay's Payment Server. When a response is returned
from SecurePay, the Payment Switch then logs the transaction
in its central database, and forwards the response back to
the operator who initiated the payment.
What's more, if your call centre's internet
connection goes down, payments may still be conducted. Certain
operators may be configured to "batch" payments
or refunds. These transactions are stored in a seperate part
of the database until the connection to SecurePay's Payment
Server has been reestablished. The system then begins automatically
sending the batched transactions to SecurePay, and storing
the response in the database for checking later.
All transactions passed through this system
are logged in a central database along with the outcome of
the transaction, as well as which user performed the transaction,
and which manager authorised a refund.
The database is configured to run with
either Microsoft SQL Server 7, or Oracle 8, which the merchant
must purchase and install seperately from SecurePay's system.
Administration of the system requires
knowledge of the database platform you choose to run on, however
installing the software is fast and simple, requiring no programming
knowledge.
For large call centres who will take a
large number of payments per day, the Call Centre Payment
Switch is the ideal SecurePay product.
